I’m still coveting this 1967 #Fender #Esquire, spotted at @12fretguitar #Toronto a couple of weeks back.

Part of what’s got me so intrigued is that @skyranger42 mentioned on my last post about it that the year before (in 1966) Fender made around 4000 Telecasters but only about 100 Esquires. That makes this guitar pretty darned rare…and therefore majorly compelling!

The other super cool thing about it is the “spaghetti” logo decal. By 1966 the #Telecaster had switched to the “Transition” logo, but Esquires stuck with the spaghetti logo over a year longer, until sometime in mid/late 1967. No doubt because so few Esquires were made and they had leftover spaghetti decals hanging around the factory (Fender is legendary for using up stocks of old parts before paying for new ones!). So in this guitar you get a Spaghetti logo Fender for a Transition logo price…and I find that so awesome! 😀
